In Shambles

Waiting for the Blue Sky

I wake up in the dead of night
By the sound of someone crying
She's demanding to watch the blue sky
Right now, in the dead of the night!

Ignore her, I go back to sleep
So much ado the next morning
No time listening to all her weeping
I must return to my deep sleep.

Face turns to the wall, pillow on my ears
I hope that girl will disappear
But she climbs to bed, lies next to me
She speaks silence, yet I understand her fears.

Living in darkness for all those years
Captivated by sorrow, guarded by tears
Still, beating strong, her longing heart
For it wishes to see blue sky on Earth.

I turn to her and catch a look
Young and pretty, but so beat-up
It frightens me, looking into those eyes
What she's been through is beyond my mind.

Don't know since when we're holding hands
Tears from our eyes, they pour like rain
We walk outside, where the sky is dark
But something glows at horizon's end.

A new day is rising, and so is our hope
The girl's glowing, she's a sun of her own
Then fade away, 'til nothing's left
Into the blue sky, back to her home.

I sit gloomily under the bright sky
Regret not having said goodbye
That's when a breeze tells me a secret
''Whenever you're sad, look up to the blue sky.''
